Surprises in the NBA

We’re several games into the regular season, and times are exciting in the NBA. Sure, it’s early in the year and a lot can change, but there are a few trends that seem to have sparked the interest of many fans, wondering how things will play out through the course of the season.

There have been some great developing stories through the first few games of the season. Here’s a quick glimpse as to what’s going on if you haven’t been keeping up.

The Phoenix Suns have been one of the best in the NBA so far, returning to their form of a few seasons ago. This is a really talented team that may very well be one of the better teams in the Western Conference all season.

Despite the loss of Shaq in the off season, Phoenix is playing some great basketball. It makes you wonder if the team might be better off without him.

Many laughed at the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, as they had one of the worst records in basketball. Few people noticed that this team gradually improved through the course of the year.

What people didn’t expect was for the team to start winning games this season. Having won their first two games, the Thunder surprised many fans with wins over the Kings and Pistons.

The biggest surprise, though, was the fact that Oklahoma City took the Lakers to overtime and nearly beat them. It looks like this team is ready to assert itself.

There’s one more team for us to review, and this is one that seems to be struggling. The Cleveland Cavs dominated the regular season last year, but 09-10 seems to have brought just the opposite to start things out.

What’s the problem in Cleveland and why does this team look off? The Phoenix Suns have lost Shaq, and they’ve gotten better. Cleveland has Shaq, and they struggle. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
